Howe Genealogies
The Howe Genealogies are based on the two volume Howe Genealogies by Daniel Wait Howe published by the New England Historical Genealogical Society (now called American Ancestors) in 1929, augmented by modern research by Walt Howe and many others. The latest version is on Ancestry.com in a collection titled Howe_Genealogy. More complete information and sources appear for many individual profiles in Wikitree. The Howe Genealogies document the descendants of five Howe families that settled in New England during the Great Migration, and capture many more in an APPENDIX. Walt’s grandfather, pictured below was a major researcher and writer for the project.

The Howe Family Gathering, 1871
The Howe family called for a family gathering in 1871, kicking off the decades of research that followed and resulted in publishing the Genealogies above. My grandfather and great grandfather were there! It is documented in this text: The Howe Family Gathering.
The Wayside Inn
The Wayside Inn was memorialized by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in his poem of the same name. It was owned by the Howe family for generations and was also known as the Howe Tavern.
